Welcome to the new topic about my upcoming game. For those who don't know, it's a point-and-click adventure set shortly before Sailor Moon, and it tells the story of where modern-day Queen Beryl came from. I'm using the Wintermute Engine to make it, available here:

A few months ago I made a tech demo featuring re-written interface logic, so that I knew I could do everything I wanted in the final game. If you're interested to see how the game will behave (but NOT what it looks like) it is available here:

Now that I've started trying to program plot elements into the in-game locations, I've made my own "debug room" for ease of testing. And I've tested several cut scenes and graphical sequences using placeholder graphics, so that I can tweak their behaviour now without waiting for the final images. They actually look good even though I spent about 5 minutes on them in MS Paint.

Yes and no. Wink

I know what will be said throughout the plot, and how the characters will react, but not the actual words. I've got a kind of storyboard in my head, and I've written some outline notes with possible dialogue, but it's almost certainly going to be overhauled before I finish.

In contrast, and except for maybe minor tweaking, the opening and closing scenes - along with one in between which I probably shouldn't say anything about - already have their final dialogue. Smile

Don't worry, this will be the first place to get the link.

Hmm... has it really been almost a year since my last update? Most of what I've done since then has been planning and getting ideas straight. I've more or less perfected the dialogue windows now - they're almost unrecognisable from the demo. And Anton-P has done some thoroughly awesome artwork for me Smile (which I can't show you 'cause it's a spoiler).

But I keep hitting a mental block with the actual game that goes in the middle of everything. I'm probably going to get someone to help with the writing.

Anyway, however slowly this goes, I will finish it. The whole reason I'm making it is that I think this game ought to exist, and no-one else is going to make it. (For any newcomers, the original discussion which spawned the idea is in the Destiny Revival forum, "Sailor Moon Plus Problems")

I really love the concept of this game and it would be extremely neat if it could some how venture itself over to the Nintendo DS.

I'll be looking for any engines you can use that might make it possible. Keep it up man!
